Escape in the nick of time

The Defiant and the Raszagal guarded the four Arwings as the planet cracked and then exploded behind them. The four fighters would have been vaporized if not for the shields of the Starfleet and Protoss starships.
"It's over." Fox said. "Thank God."
"No." Vaughn replied. "Not yet. The Aparoids may have been wiped out, but they were only a small part of the Conglomerate. The Borg and the Zerg? They're still out there, and still in numbers."
"Indeed." Zeratul said. "But still, there is cause for celebration. The most immediate threat to your homeworld has been eliminated, and the Conglomerate will spend some time licking it's wounds." Fox nodded, and sighed. The Great Fox had been destroyed, but Peppy and ROB had been beamed aboard the Defiant just before that event. They were lucky to have the larger ships to defend them.

Okay, in case your wondering, this is part of a scenario I thought up, where the Borg, Zerg, and Aparoids all ran into each other, and well, you can kind of guess what happened next. In case you're wondering who Vaughn is, he's the Defiant's commander in the DS9 relaunch novels.
